As you know our magazine entered the chick season in all Tractor supply stores throughout the
USA, the result has been quite amazing and it was a huge success.

I would like to thank all our contributors and all the people who help in the background with the
magazine, special thanks goes to my wife Clare and to Tara  (Channing’s wife) who between
them help to keep the whole thing under control and deal with the huge amount of office work
that the magazine seems to produce.

We still need articles from US keepers and fanciers and it does not matter whether you exhibit
or just keep chickens as a hobby, send in the stuff and we will do the rest. I am grateful to the
ABA and the other contributors who keep sending me articles and information, but we still need
many more.

Send in information of shows, events, topics and any poultry related sales. We will include them
in the magazine but do get them in as early as possible please.

I would also be very pleased to receive some breed focus’s from the clubs, I have asked for
help from the clubs in the past but unfortunately it is quite normal to get little or no response. I
sometimes wonder why the people who are in charge of these clubs take on the responsibility
and then are not prepared to put in the effort, especially when the breeds can be promoted in
the magazine without any cost to the clubs.

The Fowl Pox article written by Channing was very successful and we received several e mails
enquiring about the problem. It seems that the disease is quite common and it has been made
worse with the damp/wet weather that many of us have experienced this year.

We try to bring some of these problems to the reader and with Peter the “Doc” we hopefully
can help a lot of birds and keepers by giving information on the various problems from which
our birds suffer.

I hope that you enjoy this latest issue and that the hatching and rearing is going well.

All the best The Poultry Magazine Team.
